We're back! Yes, we made it. Gary came to Victoria and brought us home. We had a great time on our holidays. But I'm not sure that I want it to end. Yes, I confess that I love to be around my family and in my homeland. I could go to the Great White North anytime. Its nice to be back in our own bed though and close to our friends again. We missed everyone so much... but this weather is so hot! I don't know how you all handle it! We left BC with the most comfortable of weather. Infact, Gary did not think to bring a sweater and there was a cool breeze in the air. It was cool enough for him to be cold and to go and buy himself a sweater in Victoria. He kept saying "This was a great buy. Only fifteen dollars!" the rest of the trip. He was really surprised that he would need a sweater. Other than the night Gary arrived I didn't wear a sweater the whole trip. I just think he was use to So. Cal heat. We were outside enjoying the area everyday and not hit in the face with the heat. This is one reason why we go north every year and why I stay up there so long. It is just so comfortable. While in Victoria we went somewhere everyday to enjoy and celebrate just being there. It may have only been to a park it was still fun. "Everyday holds the possiblity of a miracle."--Elizabeth David It just depends on how you look at it. It was such a miracle for me to visit and be with my family. I am very blessed to have a husband that understand this intense need that I have to go home to my roots every year. I really want my children to find a connection and build memories of the places that I hold dear to my heart. Well, we hope you all have had a good holiday too, eh. That's how you say it in Canada. And if you ever want to come to the Island I would love to take you to my favorite spots.

Need to water your garden?
If you need a watering can I think we found the best one. It holds a lot of water! We are at Beacon Hill Park and this is just one fun thing to do. It is a really big park that is close to the ocean and offers a variety of things to do. You can spend the whole day there and have a blast.

The kids had a blast!

Red and White is the theme
CANADA DAY...the Magrath way!

We started the day with my Dad singing Oh Canada, viewing all the lovely Canadian flags down the street and eating yummy buttermilk waffles topped with strawberries and whipped cream. Boy, did those waffle taste good, eh! We dressed in our Canadian colours and T-shirts too, eh. You see red and white is the theme. We hurried to Ramond to watch the parade, eh. We were bored while waiting for it to start... sooo my dad was trying to get me to go to the middle of the street and preform the Highland Fling. Its a Scotish Dance, eh. I told him if he paid me $500. bucks I would gladly put on a show...but he only offered me $5. Not enough for me but Madi heard the offer and decided to take him up on it and she started to dance in the middle of the street. She had a Canadian umbrella hat and Canada shirt on and she preformed her canadian/awesome/hoola Dance. We were very entertained, eh! Grandpa paid up and Madi made $5 bucks.
We saw the RCMP or Royal Canadian Mounted Police in the parade and saw them riding their horses too. It is truly a Canadian thing to see when the RCMP are in sight, eh.
The children loved getting candy thrown at them even a little water too helped us stay cool. We had a fun day, eh.

Fish Lake 06.24.09
Walking along the path around the Lake is a beautiful sight and brings a peaceful feeling too. We are use to the busy pace of life but when we come to Fish Lake we take it slow and enjoy the little things around us. One can't help but take photo after photo of the scenery and the cute little kidlettes too. We love to visit once in the summer to get away from the heat.
