Cheep,Cheep!

Tweet, cheep, chirp! All in the name of Scrapbooking!
It has been over a year since I last scrapbooked! Way too long. Nola was making some scrapbook pages for Addie's birthday and I wanted to make her some too. But what to do? Then I remembered the cutest stamp set that I recently aquired (which I am totally in love with). Instantly, I knew that I should use it. The page is absolutely adorable. I forgot how much fun this really is and I miss doing it. I really want to make some more pages for my children this year too. There is nothing like saying "I love you" with a scrapbook page. It will always be there.

Dogwood

This morning we were heading home from Skating practice and I really needed to get some fuel for the Van. We were driving to the Village at Lake Arrowhead and I notice a lot of trees that had white flowers on them. So we stopped on the way back and sure enough the trees were Dogwood Trees. In BC these flowers are the Provincial Flower and you can not pick them or cut the tree down. It is on the list of British Columbia plants protected by law and it is a punishable offence to pick or destroy them.
The Pacific Dogwood (Cornus Nauttallii) was adopted as British Columbia's floral emblem in 1956. It is a small tree that grows 6 to 8 metres (20 to 30 feet) in height. Leaves are dark green on the upper side, lighter on the underside and the blooms appear from April to June and sometimes again in the fall. 30-40 small cream to greenish flowers are arranged in clusters and are surrounded by four to six large pointed, petal-like bracts.
Early legend portrays the Dogwood as being the wood of the Cross-of Calvary; the flower petals from the Cross, the centre the Crown of Thorns and the red tips of the petals the Blood of Christ.
So the cool thing about this is that my Grand-parents had a Dogwood in there front yard and one year my dad took a photo of my Grand-parents infront of it. The photo turned out so well that my mom had it enlarged and put on our living room wall. It is like a picture in time that always stood still for me. My Grandparents have past on but the picture stays with me and the Dogwood is a reminder to me of the times I spent with them and play in their yard. So thank you nature for the Dogwood and all its memories that it holds for me.

Butterfly Wings!

"In my world everyone is a pony and they all eat rainbows and poop Butterflies." says Katie from Horton Hears a Who.
My little butterfly. Thys got to take home a caterpillar from pre-school and watch it grow really big, then turn into a Chrysalis and watch it hatch and fly away. This took about three weeks and when the butterfly emerged Thys was on the Father and son campout with his dad.

We asked Thys what he wanted to name his butterfly he told us nothing. So all the children were calling it "nothing". And when we let him fly away they were calling "nothing, come back!" It didn't fly very good so the children held and played with it until it was time for us to go. Bye-bye butterfly!

Swimming in May

Swimming in May... Can you believe it? There are only a few states that you can do that in and do it in an unheated pool as well. Thanks to bubble blankets the pool was perfect. Not too hot but still refreshing. Everyone had so much fun swimming. I think Grandma and Grandpa will get sick of us over the summer because the kids love to swim. It will be like we moved in.

Even Kendell was having fun. She didn't complain or cry once even when she went face first in the water. We got ourselves another waterbaby!

Grandma's house

It's the first Sunday of the month and that means dinner at Grandma's and birthday cake. And like we always say...thanks for having a birthday! Cause we love cake!

After a yummy meal at Grandma's everyone needs a nap!!! Kendell couldn't wait and she fell asleep in the high-chair. I love moments like these. She is so adorable and cute.

This month is Uncle John and Addie's Birthday. There sure are a lot of candles on that cake! John needs a big breath and a miracle to blow all those candles out.
How old are you guys anyway? Look at Andrew trying to help blow out the candles too! So cute!

Everyone really wants a peice! Oh...did we tell you thanks for having a birthday! It was fun!
